ACQ Pressure-Treated Wood

ACQ Pressure-Treated Wood has been treated with alkaline copper quaternary, a waterborne wood preservative containing copper and quaternary compounds to protect against termite attack and decay. ACQ pressure-treated wood can withstand harsh weather conditions and is effective for decades.

ACQ Pressure-Treated Wood is clean, odorless, non-staining and non-irritating to humans, animals and plants.

By using ACQ treated lumber products instead of other materials like plastic or steel, you are helping to fight global warming. Less energy used means less greenhouse gas emissions, which means less global warming.

At Arena Fence, we follow the manufacturer's guidelines on fasteners for ACQ Pressure-Treated Wood:

  • Hot-Dip Galvanized
  • Fastener and hardware manufacturers have suggested higher levels of protection should be used with ACQ pressure treated wood. Hot-Dip Galvanized requirements for use with treated wood should conform to the following ASTM Standards: ASTM-A153 (for Hot-Dip fastener products) and ASTM-A653 (Coating Designation G-185 for Hot-Dip connector and sheet products).
  • Other fasteners and hardware as recommended by the manufacturer
  • There may be additional products (other than stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized) which are suitable for use with ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary) pressure-treated wood. Please consult with the individual fastener or hardware manufacturer for recommendations for use of their products with ACQ pressure-treated wood.
  • Aluminum should not be used in direct contact with ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary) pressure-treated wood
